Cameron Public Library POLICIES MEETING ROOM 1.
The meeting room may be reserved for use by educational, civic, cultural,
and
governmental groups when no admission charge is made.
Exceptions may be made
for meetings sponsored by the Library or an approved non-profit
educational group or
institution for short term classes, institutes, discussion groups, and forums, involving small fees.
A library staff person may attend the function. 2.
Library activities take precedence over other meetings. The Library staff will not
help in handling the exhibits and other materials needed by groups using
the meeting room. 3
The room may not be reserved by commercial, denominational, or political
groups.
However, committees or associations affiliated with more than one church
for business transactions where no
religious services are involved will be allowed. 4.
Labor organization meetings will be interpreted to be commercial
meetings. 5.
Employee groups of commercial firms will be interpreted as educational
groups provided management is
not using the meeting as a sales or promotion-type
meeting. 6.
Profit-making organizations sponsoring an educational program of a
non-profit nature
will be permitted to use the room provided the meeting is open freely to the
public. 7.
Extended series of meetings must have Library Board approval. 8.
Persons requesting the use of the room will be responsible for preparing
the room for the room for the meeting
(not more than 6 hours before the meeting), including
returning furniture and materials to their proper place (not more than 6
hours after the meeting.) No materials or furnishings may be removed from the room.
They will be responsible for leaving
the room clean and orderly after the meeting. 9.
There will be a $20.00 deposit paid at the time the key is picked-up.
The key must be returned when the room is placed back in order.
If the room is in order with no damage
and the key is returned in a timely fashion, the deposit will be refunded. The fee for the meeting room will be $25.00.
All damages and compliance with the rules are responsibility of the
person issued the 10.
Permission to use the meeting room may be withheld from groups causing
damage,
disturbance or any other failure to comply with the rules and
regulations. 11.
The occupancy of the room will not exceed 50 persons. 12
No food or beverages will be served in the meeting room. 13.
There will be no smoking in the library. 14.
No nails, tacks, hooks, or tape may be put into the walls or ceiling. 15.
Private parties such as wedding receptions, showers, birthday parties,
anniversary
celebrations, etc. may not be held in the meeting room. 16.
The meeting room may not be used for dancing. 17.
Meetings must be booked with the Library Director. 18.
Use of audio/visual materials intended for home use is not allowed.
Example:
Videocassettes intended for the home and not carrying a public viewing
permit. 19.
Applicant requesting use of meeting room, must be a registered patron of
the Cameron Public Library.
