We couldn't have done it without you!

The library entrance and parking are very near completion.  We have gotten final approval from the building inspector, the punch list is being completed and I wanted to make sure and recognize all who have made this project happen.

First and foremost, thank you to the city of Cameron and the city council for supporting this project through the funds and your encouragement as it progressed.  We could not have done this without you.  If any of you recall, I attended a strategic planning session in 2019 to introduce you to the idea.  Your $50,000 in community funds in 2022 and $150,000 in ARPA funds in 2023 made this happen! This in addition to a $10,000 ALA grant for small and rural libraries allowed for us to upgrade our handicap parking and entrance access, modernize the entrance and replace windows in our second story.  It looks amazing.

The patio, which includes the concrete pad, retaining wall and fence behind the patio was funded through the Osborn Family Foundation.  This was an addition to the project, paid for by the Friends of the Library, and a beautiful enhancement to the entrance!!!  It will include a granite bench, donated by the Earley family and a bike rack and trash receptacle purchased by the Friends of the Library.

These partners, as well as, our design and construction crews have been amazing to work with.  I want to recognize Davidson A & E – Chad Howerton who donated his time for the design and contractor search.  BCCM Construction out of Kansas City for the major management of the project and Tunks Construction for the patio and retaining wall work.

If you haven’t had the time to stop by and check it out, please do so.  Reviews from the community have been great!
